Ok, so I'm 47. Yikes! I'm trying not to be stressed out about it, but almost 50 is a little daunting. But it's also not. Because I'm not having the crazy symptoms my mom had. Thank goodness.
I think many women my age feel pretty rotten: low energy, night sweats, terrible cycles, PMS. What do you do?
Many women over 30 are deficient in Progesterone, and are Estrogen dominant.
Many women over 30 are deficient in Progesterone, and are Estrogen dominant.
Here's a couple of things you can do to reduce your estrogen levels from the outside:
- Stop using hormonal birth control,
- Kick to the curb personal care products that have ingredients that mimic estrogen--Parabens, Phthalates, and Benzophenones
- Start buying organic foods where possible (who knew glyphosate was a hormone distruptor?)
- Filter your water of xenoestrogens. Here's my favorite water filtration system.
Reducing your toxic load is vital to good health. I'm super careful about the products I use on my skin, in my house and the things I put in my mouth.
And I found this awesome superwoman serum that keeps away the night sweats, helps me sleep, and regulates my cycles (hint: it's got natural progesterone in it!).
